So If you could Fossil hunt anywhere in the world. Where would you go, how long would you be there and what tools would you bring to help? I would Like to go to a lovely Clear stream in One of Florida's forests. I have always wanted to Scuba dive there and look for the many fossils that lye under the waters surface. What I would like to Look for are the fossils of Mastodons and Titanis walleri along with any species of Alligators that may have lived there during the Pleistocene era. Not only that but to also look at the current Wild life, You know it is awe Inspiring to think, this is one of the few places in America you will find a hold over from an ancient time, the mighty American Alligator. I think their presents within the water has scared a few people off from looking on the floor of the body's of water. It's almost somewhat Ironic that people go looking for fossils, some of which are from giant predators but can be scared off by an Alligator. But where do you want to fossil hunt?

Had a great dive! So many fossils out there. Although, next time I will spend time digging to hopefully find megs that are less damaged. One 6"

Looking for someone in the area of eastern north Carolina that likes to dive for fossils, that would be interested in joining up to do some dives. As any diver knows the dangers of diving alone. It would be nice to get into contact with a few people that would like to go sometime. I have an 18ft polar craft to go wherever, and several locations that are completely untouched and ready for exploring. Along the meherrin, roanoke, and neuse rivers. Let me know

Howdy, I'm working out of Richmond for a couple years and would like to learn more about tooth hunting this area. I have a shallow running river boat with an outboard jet and complete set of scuba gear. Would like to find some not so publicly accessible locations to find shark teeth. I appreciate any advice or help. I'm also reviewing past posts on the subject but I'm learning things change year to year. Thanks in advance Billy

Hello all, I find myself heading to Florida for a week in the middle of June for non-fossil related stuff (Boooo!). However, I plan on sneaking away and squeezing out two days worth of diving at Venice Beach while I'm in Florida. I found two main charters: Florida West Scuba and Charters and Aristakat Charters They both go out on the same days, similar time, same general area, and have similar prices. Has anyone used either of these charters before? I'm not sure which on to book. Does anyone have any recommendations or comments about either one? Thanks! Jayson http://www.fossilguy.com

Hello, my name is Shawn. I'm a 41-yr-old NAUI-certified "Advanced" diver with about 100 dives, mostly in local caverns. I'm planning to do a scuba dive trip to the Santa Fe River, Saturday Sept 7 2013, from Rum Island to #47 bridge. I plan to take one or two of my canoes (I have room for others) and paddle down to Ginnie Springs and dive the Devil's Ear and Devil's Eye (no fee required when diving from the river), and then the drift to the Ballroom , then paddle/dive down to awaiting vehicle at bridge #47. A new interest for me is fossils. I want to search for fossils in the Santa Fe River. I've done so recently and found some neat little things. I can hardly wait to search again. Shawn .
