  1. somebody asked about books on fossils, so I thought why not list my favorites and maybe get to discover something unknown on somebody else's book shelf. Here are two of my favorites. The Walking Whales: From Land to Water in Eight Million Years by J. G. M. Hans Thewissen (Author) , and The Story of Life in 25 Fossils: Tales of Intrepid Fossil Hunters and the Wonders of Evolution by Donald R. Prothero (Author). I enjoyed the writing style and learned a fair amount of how the science of paleobiology has developed and some of the amazing findings can be determined.
  2. What are your favorite books on prehistoric topics? Mine are "popular" books.... "Prehistoric Life: The Definitive Visual History of Life on Earth " by DK press- I love how logically it is laid out and how beautifully it is illustrated. "The Story of Life in 25 Fossils: Tales of Intrepid Fossil Hunters and the Wonders of Evolution" by Donald R. Prothero. This book taught me a lot about transitional fossils. I am looking for other good books. So, what are yours?

    My Favorite Tool

I have a new microscopic camera, a dremel, dental pick, and an air blaster. I am waiting on my granddaughter to set up the camera and am still learning when to use the dremel. The air blaster requires the air compressor and its huge so I usually avoid using it unless my husband is home. But the dental pick has become my favorite tool. This morning I was cleaning the dirt and rock matrix from around the rock I have with the hundreds of shells and I found more shells and some I didn’t know and a squid. I carry a dental pick in my small purse tool kit and in a little case I carry a fossil. It doe

    Show Us Your Favorite Fishy!

Well, we've had Brachiopods and Trilobites, so I figured let's give fish a try! I am going to start this off with my Enchodus marchesettii from the Hakel Quarry of Lebanon. Not only is this fossil 100% complete with the only restoration done was repairing the matrix itself, but I received this from one of my good friends on none other than my birthday! This is my favorite fossil in my ENTIRE collection! More will come from the Greenriver side of my collection, I just gotta get my camera fixed
  5. I know for people new to TFF like myself it would be nice to have a place where everyone can say what they're good at. It could be a specific era, location or just be dinosaurs or trilobites. This way people know who to ask if they want an ID for something very specific. I don't know if this already exists but if it doesn't here it is. I don't have much fossil experience so other members would probably be a better fit but I would say my strength is teeth, shark teeth, dinosaur teeth, mammal teeth, any kind of teeth.
  6. Show us your favorite brachiopod fossil in your Collection!
  7. What evolutionary info can we cobble together about our favorite animals and plants? Take it away! P.s., I'll post mine later, since it's kinda dark AM right now.

    Your Favorite Find?

Hey, I hope this is the right forum! I’m new to TFF, so idk if this is allowed or not, but figured I’d give it a shot. Admin, if not allowed, please delete and let me know. Thanks!! I’m curious to see your favorite piece in your collection. Post a picture of your favorite find, and tell me a little bit about it. What time period is it from? Where did you find it? (I.E., US, England, etc.) Is it rare? Why is it your favorite find? I’ve got a couple of favorites, but I’ll just post one. This rock in particular is teeming with history! On this one rock alone there are fo
