Hello everyone. I found this molar when searching a site recently, and I am not sure what it is from. I don't know my teeth very well, but I suspect it came from a deer? Maybe a worn molar? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Found two unusual rocks on the islands of the Savannah River in Georgia. I'm hoping at least the first is a fossil but I'd not be surprised if both were just dark rocks :-) Thoughts? Sorry for only 2 photos but this was what I could post under the 3.95MB limit. Thanks!

Hi all and thank you for allow me to become a new member. I live in a fossil rich environment snuggled in the ridges of Pigeon Mountain, located in Chickamauga, GA. Many of the fossils I run across can be narrowed down to plants or shells but this one has me a bit perplexed. Maybe it is a plant but I'm humbly asking for a professional's opinion. Any input is truly welcome. Cheers..

A while back on one of the occasions my friend Barrett and I went to the Conasauga creepy crawlies, a man who arrived some time later with his daughter to hunt them recommended we check out a place called Springfield. A rough map of the area in and around Springfield says that there are pleistocene deposits in the general area. Anyone know of a good place to learn more, or a potential spot to hit?

hello I am very new to fossil hunting I have only hunted about ten times so far but I am loving it. I have already found several different fossils. but none that are close to me so far. does any one know of any places near macon ga. with high potential or any tips in general for me. I have took my son with me for the first time a few days ago and he loved it. just any most knows or locations near my area because truly I know almost nothing about fossils the little that I do know so far has come from youtube.

If you beautiful people recall, I said I'd be heading back to our favourite GA trilo site on the Conasauga river for my Convergence media project. Well, here's the run down: When we got to the small parking space that eternally marks the entrance to the site, we checked the river as we always do. To our fortune, the Conasauga was low Saturday, giving us more leg room to hunt. It was definitely the right condition to hunt! Not too hot or cold, and the river was nice and low. After doing some filming shots for the DEC (the school news program), I got to what was REALLY important: finding those trilos! I actually deviated from the norm this trip by going to the other side of the bridge, a place I haven't really explored before. And it was looking promising: It wasn't long before I found a direct formation exposure and got right to splitting the incredibly easy-to-split rock: A short 30 minutes later, I had already gathered a good trip's spoils... One particular multi-slab I found simply lying amongst the rocks caught my eye, with one Aphelaspis positive being practically complete, and even having visible eyes (more images coming later):

Hello all! Hope everyone's years are off to a happy and huntfull start! Well I started the year off spending some Christmas cash on a meglodon tooth. (Having only found fragments myself) any way I was wondering if there is a tie between locations and colors of teeth. I found this beauty at an pass-proof price. It is a beautiful orange/red. At 5 inches almost exactly. The previous owner says it came from the st. Mary's river area of Georgia. (Pretty close to where I was when I got it). I am just curious if this is a common color for other areas or even in the st Mary's area? Thank you all for any input.

I found this stone hatchet head in the Nottely River , near Blairsville, GA. It appears to be from the Woodlands period. There is a fossilized portion of the underbelly shell of a small turtle on the side of the stone. It is a bit eroded from being in the river. A bit of the back portion of the hatchet is missing. Still, a pretty nice find, I think.

Next week I'm headed for Summerville to hunt for megs, and this week at Jekyll I'm getting a small taste of the toothy joy that is hunting at Summerville! This is the first of possibly multiple trips to the shark tooth beach here on Jekyll Island. Got some pretty nice things, too! Trip 1 Family photo;

So I just recently found a new trilobite site in GA only an hour and a half drive away from where I live. I plan on going there this weekend (tomorrow), but I do not know the exact age. I have currently been unsuccessful at finding a reliable geological map so far. Anyone have an idea on the age? Thanks!

Found in South Georgia. Very smooth on one side and one end. Very heavy for its size. I thought it was petrified wood at first but someone told me it looked like a piece of tusk so I thought I would post some pics. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
