    ID German Trilobite

Hi everybody! This time i kindly ask your help to identify a little gift a friend of mine give to me last weekend. I really know nothing about german trilobites...i have no idea! Here are the info: Origin: Eifel, Germany Age: Devonian (probably Middle...Eifelian? Givetian?) Lenght: 8.5 cm / 3.35 inches Cephalon Width (max): 4.8 cm / 1.9 inches I'm thankful to everyone who wants to participate at the topic Have a wonderful weekend!

    Pterosaur tooth or fish?

Any idea on this tooth, labelled as pterosaur? No bigger pics available because of its small size. It is sold as a pterosaur tooth from the Solnhofen formation. It is only 3mm in length---much smaller than other teeth I see there and smaller than the tooth I have from there. Most pterosaur from there seem to be curved, whereas this is quite straight, which makes me think it's probably not a pterosaur. It's a really tiny tooth---3mm. Even smaller than the Bull Canyon pterosaur teeth, could be from a rarer type of pterosaur there? Most are sold as Rhmphorhynchus, but I see there are a lot of pterosaurs from that location--incluiding the quite small pterodactylus and the tiny aerodactylus Thanks

  7. So... This specimen is currently in ID- section here, but since it doesnt have any suggestions, I figured out that I should try to get some more features to help IDing. This is from northern Germany. I found this little stone and after a while, I decided to smash this into another rock. It kinda worked and this is what was in there. The fossil itself is quite fragile, and I accidentally managed to swipe lots of the material away from the other half. That was poor handling from my part.. :S I must say that Im quite inexperienced (only "re-prepped" one Otodus tooth which had some features under rock. Turned out to be quite fine fore first "prep" IMO). I have magnifiers, dental tools, glues etc for basic working but no powertools bc I live in an apartment building. Not saying that I would use any powertools for this. How would you guys deal with this, or is this something I shouldnt try to tackle?
  8. Hi team, thoughts on this specimen? Ideas on what it is? Iv also uploaded it into the “is it real?” Category! It’s owner is from Germany but he can’t tell me anything about it. Thoughts? thanks Nick
