fossilnut posted a topic in Fossil IDI volunteer at a natural history society. i was asked to do a zoom talk for a general audience on identifying fossil shark teeth. As I looked at a few online shark tooth identification Guides, what struck me was the number of scientific words or descriptive terms that a person would need to understand to use a Guide. It would be discouraging to have to stop and look up each term. So I tried to find a site where all the words or terms were explained with words and pictures that would be clear. I did not find one. Can any of you point me to one? I had never tried on my own to id shark teeth
Bone Daddy posted a topic in FloridaHi Folks, I am looking for some good books on Florida geology and Florida fossils. I don't need any beginner level books - I have them all. I've done a lot of searching on the web, but Florida appears to be a geological wasteland in terms of rock books - not much to be had. This is not surprising, because all of Florida is nothing but sand and limestone. However, I am thinking that surely I must be missing something, so any recommendations are welcome. I am also looking for books on Florida-specific fossils for identification and distribution purposes. Googl

Greetings from Florida! I am hoping one of my fellow Fossil Forum brethren might help me out. I am planning a family vacation to the Charleston area the first week of April and came across Low Country Fossil Excursions online.
