  1. Finds from North Sulfur River in Ladonia Texas. Baculite part of a nautilus. Baculite Bits of Baculite All the layers of a huge gryphea On left 2 huge gryphea. Red and black baculite. the algea covered thin over TX I thought could be the underside of a sea urchin. Sorry a few rocks snuck in there and at the top at first I thought it was a chunk of petrified wood but now am thinking it could be a wore down bone fragment.

    NSR Vertebrate Unknown?

Hi Everyone, I've found several Mosasaur verts but this one doesn't match the anatomy of any that I've found before. I know it's damaged, but any ideas on what this is? 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: Thanks!

  6. Sorry I have been crazy busy lately and unable to post. Here's a few of Northeast Texas finds my last couple of trips. Pleisosaur partial girdle, silver spoon, artifacts, xiphactinus tooth, mosasaur verts, old door knob, enchodus jaws, old hard hat, old bottles, ammonite, exogyra and my first crocodile scute.
  7. I had a great half day at the North Sulphur River Texas before the rain got me. I found a mix of everything to include artifacts, Xiphactinus vert, swordfish tooth, coprolite, turtle shell, partially rooted mosasaur tooth, killer mosasaur paddle bone, Enchodus jaws, shark teeth and old toys. My buddy racked up on mosasaur verts.
  8. After taking a little time off from hunting due to a new job and holidays I decided to hit the North Sulphur River with a friend. We had a great day. I love the Tylosaur scapula with shark bites. We found a large Xiphactinus washing out and ended up with one left maxilla and three verts from it. We will go back and check that area again.

    Shark teeth (and sawfish)

From the album: North Sulphur River

Shark teeth (at least in my experience) are really hard to find at NSR. The best method would probably be to sift for them in gravel, but I've yet to do that. The odd looking one is actually the base of sawfish rostral tooth.

Wondering about a few more pieces

I am wondering about two more pieces I found on my walk down the NSR. Are they just rocks? 3 pictures of each. Thanks again in advance!
  14. Wondering about another piece I found on my trip to the North Sulfur River. Could it be bone or tooth? Thanks in advance for any information!

Help with a few more things

I have a few more things that I am unsure of, well actually, I am unsure about all of my finds, as I am just learning. These are a few more things I found walking and digging the North Sulfur River. Any info is greatly appreciated!

    Help with ID please

Total newbie at fossils and to this forum. Husband and I spent the weekend exploring the NSR in Ladonia Texas. Had so much fun and think I found some cool stuff. Definitely some teeth, some baculite? Maybe some petrified wood? Thanks in advance for anyone who is kind enough to respond.

    Help with IDs please

Total newbie here, hoping for some help identifying my finds. Spent the weekend digging and exploring the NSR in Ladonia. I know I have some teeth and baculite. Any info will be greatly appreciated. 20201205_161611.jpg, 20201206_153351.jpg, 20201207_081104.jpg, 20201207_081130.jpg, 20201207_081212.jpg, 20201207_081228.jpg, 20201207_081251.jpg, 20201207_081329.jpg
  18. Everything was pretty well picked over in my regular spots so I took a thirteen mile eleven hour hike with a friend at the North Sulphur River Texas. Here's my finds. The mosaaur tooth, fish fin with verts, fish occipital condyle and the big Tylosaur vert made my day. The water moccasins were mating and did not appreciate us walking by. They both took the time to open their mouths and warn us to get away.

    Good Fishing

So far the fishing has been good this year at the North Sulphur River Texas. Here's a few of my cretaceous fish finds from my past three hunts.
