Hi my name is Jess. I am from Davenport Iowa. I am always looking through rocks everywhere I go. Lol. I'm excited to see what everyone else finds and possibly get help identifying some of my finds. 😁
  2. Some of the nicer fossils from Morocco that I own. Let's start! - Set of nice spinosaurus teeth. Found in the same tunnel and layer. Only some meters away from eachother. 11 and 10.8 centimeter KemKem group, Morocco - Hainosaurus Boubker jaw pieces (dentary + snout) associated from an adult specimen. Really rare. Sidi Chennane, Oued Zem Morocco - Huge 10.6 centimeter carcharodontosaur crown with neat orane/brown like colors. KemKem group, Morocco - Set of 35 associated Otodus Obliquus teeth. Biggest one measures 8CM. Took a while to find one. El Khourigba, Morocco

What do Member ranks do ?

I have a question : what do Member ranks do and what they're used for ?
  4. Hello, I am trying to get into contact with forum member @dshamilla regarding some fossils in his collection, does anyone know his whereabouts? It seems he has not been active since 2018, and I cannot reach him via PM. In my search I came across this obituary: https://chestertontribune.com/previous-articles/Obituaries 2018/david_stephen_hamilla_age_70_pas.htm Which has me wondering if this is the same person and he has passed away? If so, does anyone know of a way I can get into contact with his family, or someone who has access to his collection? Thanks.
  5. I started off in the morning checking a place out, and ended up finding one full flexicalymene roller. I left early and had intentions of putting up a couple blinds, tending some game cameras, and then going to a new spot. After putting up the blinds and replacing batteries on cameras and hanging a new one, I decided that it was too late to go fossil hunting where I wanted to. I instead headed to a well known area and happened upon a member of the forum. Jeffrey P., from New York. Neither of us were there for very long. I am not sure what all he found, possibly he will share later. I ended up finding one slightly damaged whole flexi roller and left partials. I saw a local guy, a woman from Illinois, and Jeffrey from New York. I seriously had no clue this area was so popular until joining this forum. Anyhow, Jeffrey if you read this, again, great to meet you! Stay safe out there and good luck to you!

    Monica

Frequent contributor to the Forum, Monica has apparently not posted in a couple months. I hope she is doing well. Does anyone have any insight into her absence?
  8. I find skulls one of the most interesting pieces of fossil you can ever own. So here I'd love to see all of your fossil skulls, or parts of one. Here is my Pleistocene era skull of a Ursus arctos. An ice age brown bear. Very very uncommon find.
  9. Share your favourite ICE AGE era fossils, I love to collect them myself This is my favourite fossil: Coelodonta antiquitatis lower jaw Length: 42CM Weight: 3,557KG Location: Permafrost, Siberia

    One Year

Found a type of rock today, quite unusual. Anyone can easily obtain it a number of ways but this one is special. A milestone. I joined this forum September 3rd 2020, knowing very little, just about the few things I've collected and very basic information. Came on with a "dinosaur footprint" and was absolutely clueless as to the species. Some kind forum members quickly showed me the way and entertained all my questions and rocks. Since then, I have learned so much. The amount of knowledge I've gotten from this forum in 365 days is crazy. Sometimes if I read my own posts I realize how my fossil knowledge has grown exponentially. It doesn't seem possible in one year and it came from all kinds of people of all ages from all parts of the world. This is not just an amazing place to learn, it is an amazing place. I mean how many places are better than being able to share your finds, ask for identifications you don't know, look at the amazing fossils other people have found, watch preparation as a fossil is awakened and all contained in a very nice forum without the problems other online platforms have. It's my milestone but it really is a big thanks to everyone who got me there. Thank you.
  11. Show some love to the elephant family. for example, I recently added these 2 lovely partly Mammoth Jaws to my personal collection! I'm in love with it and so happy!
  12. Hi friends, One of our younger members, @FossilsAnonymous, is convalescing from a major surgery. He will be in the hospital for another week or so and then will have several months of very limited activity and convalescence at home. I am certain he would love to hear from you in the next month or so! If you would like to contribute some fossil goodies to keep him engaged during his recovery, I am sure he would love that as well. To send a package, please DM me and I'll send FossilsAnonymous' mailing address. -Aaron @WhodamanHD @Gizmo @HoppeHunting @Metopocetus
