I was walking my dogs this afternoon (EST) and I noticed a rock that was kind of rusty looking but spherical from the angle I was looking. I picked it up for some reason and when I flipped it over I saw some fossils I've seen before and a couple I haven't. The more I looked at it I thought this maybe part of a skull that sea life made a home in possibly? There is one fossil that almost loos like it still has color but that maybe the hue off the marbleized fossil I guess too. The fossil is very heavy and round almost oval shape aside from one section that is maybe missing? Also looks like a very small piece broke off or was scrapped off. You can see the white spot where this may have happened in the side view pics. I couldn't find my tape measure sorry. I used a AAA battery in a bunch of pics since I'm pretty sure that's a world wide standard. You can also refer to a 500ml Round bottom Pyrex flask. It's not a perfect fit but it would be very close to filling the bottom half of the flask.

There is so much going on on this rock not sure I captured it all. Found in park east of DFW airport, North Texas Eagle Ford. Most interesting is the long object running down center of rock, almost the whole length. Have not been able to find anything similar. Not sure what else is there other than snails, ammonite, bacculites, maybe worms and tiny turritella looking gastropod? Appreciate any ID !

I am unsure where they originated from. But the 2nd one was found in my gravel area. The 2nd one reminded me of the favosite coral, but it is not as similar when I compared them.

My boys found this rock containing what looks like multiple fossils to me. Just looking for any info I can give my boys. Doesn't need to be too detailed. Ages 6 to 11. Thanks!

Hi All I found this rock earlier today and was surprised with what I saw. There is what might possibly be three different fossils in it. If anyone can please tell me if these are fossils, geology or a mix, I would appreciate it. This rock was found near Willow Springs, MO. A - Measures 8mm on the longest side. B - Measures from side to side approximately 19mm. It doesn't show up well in the image, but there are five total sections in an almost fan shape. Is this crinoid stem impressions or something different? C - This one is one that I am guessing might not be a fossil. These little "lines" remind me of tiny bones in their appearance. On average, they measure 3mm long and about 0.33mm in diameter. If anyone can shed any light on any of these areas of interest in this rock, I would greatly appreciate it. Doug

My sons and I found this rock on the shores of Lake Erie near Point Pelee on the Canadian shores. Doubt it’s anything too special, but it’s by far the largest cluster of fossils we’ve ever found. If anyone has any insights it would be appreciated. My sons really want to know more about it. Thanks in advance. If there is interest I can post pictures that are closer up.
