This is a bit of a question mark for me, this was inside of a piece of kimberlite that was found in Wyoming while out surveying gold claims. It is hard enough to scratch a genuine sapphire so it has to be a least a 8 on the moh's if i'm not mistaken.

I've found some really nice rocks recently, but haven't been able to ID these pink and purple minerals. I have many more that show these pink and purple colours, including a glossy purple pattern on the outside of a rock. I'd appreciate any guesses on what these could be. Thanks.

I have a piece of common pink granite I found along a rail road bed. while taking pictures of the pyrite in it through my microscope I found a single yellow dot with an inner dark circle like a target. I would like to know what it is. I do not remember if I cleaned it in my ultra sonic. note that the first two were taken with my Nikon 775 digital and the dark circle is a Panasonic I just got. Thanks. Bob

Greetings, This is my first post and I am honored to be a part of this forum community. My goal is to be a courteous, respectful member of the forum - benefiting from, and deeply appreciating the vast amount of knowledge, expertise, and valued opinions shared on this site, and I hope I may have the opportunity to contribute something useful in the future. I received this fossil from my cousin several years ago and though I once knew what it was, I can no longer remember. Your thoughts and suggestions to what it is are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
