Educational Survey for Individuals Interested in Paleontology
Raúl Falcón posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
Hello! My name is Raúl Falcón, and I am a design student at the Rhode Island School of Design. I’m currently working on a research project focused on online paleontology resources for anyone interested in dinosaurs and paleontology. I would appreciate your feedback and input on this project, which can be accessed through the attached link here. This research project is part of my Design Principles class User Experience Final project. The goal of this study is to gain insight into how individuals learn about prehistoric life and engage with online learning resources. To achieve this, participants will be asked to complete a form with three questions related to their learning experiences and preferences for educational content. Please note that all responses will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes. My ultimate objective is to develop online paleontology resources that cater to the needs and preferences of anyone interested in paleontology. I would be more than happy to respond to any questions or comments you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at rfalcon@risd.edu. Thank you for your time and assistance in this project. Best regards, Raúl -
I grew up going to the SC coast with my mom(actually lived there the first few years of my life). I've never lost my fascination with searching for shark teeth(my profile photo is my mother, my deceased sister, and myself at a very young age, looking at our former home in Garden City, SC), and it's known within the group of friends that my wife and I vacation with. Point is, I found this last year at Carolina Beach in NC. I pride myself on a keen eye, but I initially thought it to be nothing more than an ironically accurate shaped piece of wood. I kept it none the less, and "white-lied" to the other couples with us in our airbnb that i was confident it was a tooth. I forgot all about it until about a week ago. After a little research, I'm pretty sure it is, in fact, a tooth. But, I'm leaning towards a reptile. Again, I'm an amateur, just hoping someone can give me an answer. Thanks in advance.

Hello ! My name is Anna, I'm new here, I'm hoping someone can assist me with identifying what appears to be large bone ...or...rocks. They are very white, porous, and YES I did stick my tongue to one, lol, it stuck. I don't normally go around licking rocks, but these are pretty cool looking. i took pics yesterday. Found on my friends 180 acre hunting ranch, near Concan, Texas.(west of San Antonio, hill country)

Hello everyone! I am new here and this is my first post. Today i have found a rock that i suspected of carrying a fossil inside. So i gave it a shot and broke it open only to my surprise finding a fossil inside. After some research i was not able to identify this earthworm looking like creature. I found this forum and wanted to ask your opinions on this case. The fossil is 17mm long and 3 mm thick. It is found in a rooftop which has different rocks for decorative purposes so i do not know where it originally came from. I am located in the middle of Turkey (Anatolia) Would be great to at least have an understanding of this creature from the earths past days. Thank you all in advance and hey i hope i am welcome here!

I was in a cave close to my house and discovered a sink hole. I got closer and in the sinkhole was a huge pile of sand. In the sand I could see what looked like dozens and dozens of little nests, or so they looked like to me, and a bunch of egg looking rocks all different shapes and sizes. they are Extremely heavy and feel just like they look. Can anyone help me identify what they are please?

I found these in my flower beds around my house. I've been noticing some small little fossilized type sea shells that are really tiny in general. I've also found a few other items that I'm really curious about. The first item found looks like a tooth and I'm trying to figure out if it is or not as well as if it is indeed a tooth if it is something that is prehistoric. The other few pictures look like cylindrical rocks that are the same in size and shape. They each have an end on them that looks sort of like they've been clamped and it has a indentation on that end of the rock as well. However the interesting part is that the one that I found that was broke open has almost like a white hard substance on the inside. For the life of me I have researched this and can't figure out what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
