How rare are phragmocones from cephlapods? Are they something you need to get into a quarry to find, or can you recover them out of roadcuts? This is for the Midwest, like Illinois, Wisconsin etc.

Hello to all. This is my collection of flora from the Carboniferous period. This topic will be filled gradually - there is a lot of material. All material originates from the Araukarite Formation of the Gzhel Stage of the Upper Pennsylvania Carboniferous period (303.4 Ma). Unless otherwise specified, it means that the default sample is from this formation. The type of substitution is silicification (sometimes with ferruginization), sometimes with quartz crystals on the surface of the samples. Enjoy watching Part 1. Sample 1. Part of a branch of small diameter with a whorled arrangement of knots. VID_20211212_143605.mp4

Hey everyone! I have a quick question on baby tyrannosaur teeth and their rarity compared to adult or subadult tyrannosaur teeth. Which is rarer to find? I would assume baby tyrannosaur teeth would be rarer, but at the same time, most tyrannosaurs didn’t even make it to adulthood. So which would you say? Are baby tyrannosaur teeth or adult tyrannosaur teeth rarer? Any answer is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

Rarity of this afrovenator tooth?
Pterygotus posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I saw this afrovenator atakensis tooth from the tiouraren formation, niger with no repair or restoration. What is the rarity of it and quality?( common, uncommon, rare, fairly rare, ultra rare or almost never seen) does the broken tip affect this? Thank you. It is described as unbroken and incredibly rare.- 23 replies
