My daughter found this seed pod Sunday at the John Day Fossil beds in Oregon. Pretty cool. Found a lot of seeds by themselves but this one is the actual pod. Just thought I would share it.

I was walking the dog on a sand bar on the Kansas River next to Bonner Springs,Ks. 12/16/2020 I found a roundish rock roughly 2" in diameter that has a lumpy texture. I picked it up and shook it and it makes a rattling sound as if the are seeds inside. Are there fossilized seed pods found along the Kansas river?

Here is another one of my "unidentified" items. I purchased as a seed pod, but I've been having serious doubts lately. It was described as "seed pod from SW desert". I'm thinking it's just another concretion. Am I right?

Is this just another concretion? It was listed as Dinosaur Seed Fossil Specimen, Pennsylvanian, found in Illinois. I am suspiciously thinking it's another concretion. Am I right?

Some friends of ours found this very strange fossil a few years ago, they don't remember where they found it. I would appreciate it if you guys could give an id so that I can let them know what they have found.

Found this piece in a spoil pile, just the way it is, minus the dirt. Seems to be something, but I can't find any reference. Any ideas ?? I was thinking some kind of seed pod, or cone perhaps ?? Thanks for any help !! Phil

Hi all, I have been having some trouble with this specimen. It came from a large collection of Mazon pieces I purchased a number of years back from collector Ron Brandt of Normal, Illinois, who self-collected and also purchased several extensive collections from others. Originally it was identified by someone (too far in the past) as an egg sac of some sort, but after some discussion with someone I would consider an expert, a fellow named Dan Damrow, who some of you may know, some doubt has been cast on that identification. I would be interested in any comments or insights you may have. Thanks, Paul
