    River Danube

EDIT: Hello everyone, Over the weekend, I set out for the Danube for the first time. Since I am new to fossil hunting (although I have been a fan of paleontology for many years), I do not have a large set of resources for identification. In this regard, I have a number of fossils that I tried, and failed to identify, via the Internet. Thanks for any help! [We are an English-based forum which many members read through auto-translation software. Google Translate has produced the above text which will gain more replies than the original Serbian question.] -Ken

    Great Morava bones ID

Hi. Found these bones yesterday at gravel pits facility where workers separate big rocks from the fine sand from Great Morava river. They don't burn at all or smell like a burnt bone. Here are some photos if someone can help me identify them : I know for one that is radius bone from Bison/Bos, but don't know about the others. P.s. Also u can see that one bone has something similar like "scars" from a possible flint? Please help! Darko

    Vertebrae ID

Hi people! I have something to show you, it's from last years fossil hunt. I went last year to a beautiful Cave in Zabrega, (Paraćin) to try to find some pleistocene fossils. The Cave itself is not so deep but it's very wide and very big. I did found some bones and teeth which are half recent and half fossilized i guess? I found also pottery so it could be archeological but idk honestly. I'm here to show you my "biggest" find - it's a vert. not sure if that belongs to a deer or something else. You decide Thanks for help. Darko

    Cave Bear bones?

Hi to all. Can anyone tell me is this a Cave Bear phalanx? It's found somewhere in Southeastern Serbia and i wonder if this belongs to a Cave Bear or maybe to a common brown bear? I have also 10 teeth from it and two from Hyena. If someone could just tell me something about it would help. Also to mention that here was earlier bigger population of other specie of cave bear (Ursus ingressus) than common cave bear (Ursus spelaeus). Does that have some sense? Darko
  9. Hi! After a while i did some drawings, and here is a new addition to my collection, the Cave bear, not the common one (Ursus spelaeus). This bear was also bigger than a common cave bear and lived also in Caves as Ursus spelaeus. He is Ursus ingressus or Gamssulzen Cave bear. Lived along with Ursus spelaeus and died out at the end of Pleistocene period. I did him especially cause i have many teeth from that bear and first i thought that is a Ursus spelaeus but i was wrong. He lived in Central and Eastern Europe, so here are found many specimens of him. Except him here are well known Dire wolf and a woolly Mammoth. Enjoy

    Fossil IDs (if possible)

I like collecting fossils, but I usually am not sure what my finds are. Please, could you help me identify these fossils? I noted down some possibilities down below. 1 - could be a late Albian ammonite from central Serbia, but I am not entirely sure. Acquired in Serbia. 2 - Found at Southerndown, Wales. Could it be a tree root or something in the region of that? It has a cross-hatched pattern if you look closely. 3 & 4 - A shell I found at Penarth, Wales but I am not entirely sure what it is called. 5 - A bone I found in the mud at Tites Point, Severn, Gloucestershire. maybe a birds? 6 - Some shells I found in mudstone at Charmouth, England. Was found in the same stone as 7. 7 - wood I found at Charmouth? It was very crumbly and delicate. 8 - A Trilobite fragment possibly, Llanfawr quarries, Wales. 9 - A bivalve I found in Southerndown. Not sure what it is though.
