Dry Creek bed find. Very dense. I've cleaned it quite too heavily. It doesn't feel like any local stone that I'm aware. Initially believed it might be pet wood but more uncertain since I over did it. You rock!

Looking Back at my Bone Valley hunt; on May 7th, 2023
Rock Hound posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
I hunted for 6.5 hours; at a paid access private property on May 7th, 2023 in Bowling Green, Florida. Pictured here, are only the Shark Teeth I found that day. There were a bunch of other fossils found; but most of the people there, were mainly searching for Shark Teeth. Especially, Megalodon Teeth. My picture here, is an example of what Shark Teeth may be found; if one doesn't get into the Megalodon Teeth, with much success. I believe I counted 160 Shark Teeth, in this photo. Fortunately; i also found lots of Mammal Bone, and other types of Fossil Teeth that day. I found a pile of stuff. -
Recent Trip to the Bone Valley Fossil Farm, in Bowling Green, Florida:

After much consideration; I decided to allow someone else, to introduce me to their local fossil rich area. At the Bone Valley Fossil Farm; the owners have used heavy equipment to remove the upper 12 feet of sandy topsoil. Doing so, exposes Megalodon era fossil layers. The fossil layer is then dug out with heavy equipment, and is piled up at wet screening wash stations on the owner's property. This is a paid access fossil site, and all necessary wet screening equipment is furnished for you. I found a good variety of fossils; during 6 1/2 hours of frantic, almost non-stop fossil hunting. You can go at your own pace. You can do it your way. If you finish your pile, before the 6 1/2 hour timeframe is up; the owners will quickly replenish your pile, with more fossil rich soil. They are very friendly, and they cater to you well. I had a great experience, and I believe it was well worth the access fee I paid. They are good people. Now, some fossils!!! -
These 2 Fossils, with matrix attached; came out of a fossil rich pile of soil, at the Bone Valley Fossil Farm. This soil contained Megalodon Shark Teeth, Hemipristis Serra Shark Teeth, Dugong Rib Bones, etc. These 2 Fossils, were the only ones I found; which were these colors. (The Dugong Bones were White, and the Shark Teeth had Black Enamel and Greyish White Roots.) I believe both of these, to be Mammal Teeth. What say you? 1st Specimen:

Florida - Venice - Bone Valley suggestions or hunting buddies
Jasons_fossils posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
Hello all, I'm making my fourth trip to Venice in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good land sites in the area, or further inland to where one might find Bone Valley teeth. Would also enjoy the company if you have a secret spot that you don't want to disclose the location of. I'll be diving in Venice a few days and maybe a trip out to Peace River, but I've always wanted to find a good Florida land site. -
Why do southern californians go to Diamond Valley for fossil hunting.
whovin posted a topic in Questions & Answers
People have told me to go to Diamond Valley, They said there are lots of fossils there. The lake is man made though. Paleontologist already dug out the fossils. So what is so good about it.- 6 replies
