I’m going to be in Myrtle Beach this summer and would like to scuba dive in the Waccamaw River. Does anyone have information about this? I’m especially interested in a charter or going with an experienced group. Thanks!

I live in Charleston SC which is about a 2 hour drive south of Myrtle Beach. I am a Master certified diver with 25 years experience and over 300 dives. I have never heard any talk of diving the Waccamaw River. The best place to get information on that would be to contact the dive shops in Murrell's Inlet and "North" Myrtle Beach.

Thanks for the response. I was in Hilton Head a couple years ago and did a Cooper River dive for fossils. I only saw references to diving the Waccamaw on you tube. I have called a couple of dive shops in Myrtle Beach and they don’t have any knowledge of diving there either. I will definitely contact the shops you referenced. If I strike out on fossil diving, I may just do a wreck dive.

I did a considerable amount of offshore Myrtle wreck diving. It was excellent in my opinion.
