I’m planning on trading for this tooth but before I do I wanted to make sure if there’s any restoration or repair on the tooth.

The tooth is labeled as Zhuchengtyrannus cf. and is from the 75-71 million year old Djadochta Formation of Southern Mongolia.

Though I think it’s safer to call it Tyrannosaurid indet. at the moment as the species or any Tyrannosaur species hasn’t been formally described from the formation.

More photos?

From the size of the crack, I think at least it has been repaired.

Hard to say from just one photo, however.

Zhuchengtyrannus is a Tyrannosaurid known from China while the formation you mention is in Mongolia.  Are you sure you have the proper provenance and do you have a locality where this was found to determine if the formation stated is accurate?   Do need to see both sides and one of the base.

Just hijacking this thread with some extra photos as I was also offered this tooth from the seller - they didn’t send me any of the base but here’s some additional photographs

I should add I asked about location and was only told Mongolia the tooth comes from a old ‘grandfather’ collection so not sure if you will get a better answer from the seller than that

Photos are not adequate to really determine what's been done to the tooth.  Need sharp photos of both sides and bottom without fingers.  Suspect some resto on one side.

It surely is repaired. Of course you can see the crack. I wouldn't say restored with the pictures
