I'm relatively new to fossil hunting. I found a few while I was living in Kansas (Flint Hills area), but I have since moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle. I'm wondering if there are any sites in particular that have been good for finding fossils, or if anyone has any tips. I've done a little research, and it seems most of the formations in my area are Neogene, specifically Olagalla formation.

If I recall correctly there are dinosaur tracks in Kenton that you can visit, as well as a (concrete) statue of a dinosaur femur (Acrocanthosaurus, maybe?) near Boise City--every year we would drive to Taos and stop at that statue :P .

I'm afraid, for things you can take home, that there isn't much in the Panhandle. Depending on how far you're willing to drive, there's plenty of sites in the surrounding area.
