On the surface this looks like a feather but i don't know if there are any plants that look like this.  Here are the pics.  Piece extracted from the cenomanian clay pits. Dated by argon from volcanic crystals on strata to cenomanian age late cretaceous.

Hi, and :Welcome-crab:.

I think this isn't a Feather, but a wing of insect, but let more knowleagables give their opinion.

That's a superb piece of amber you have here.:wub:

To be sure if they are feathers or not You will need to look at the microscopic features of the 2 pieces. Although they do look like feathers there are several plant parts that can look like feathers.

Well the pictures are from a supplier. I sure hope they are feathers:fingerscrossed:You don't happen to know which plants look like feathers?

Acacia flowers are similar to down feathers. Nothing else comes to mind right off- but I am not a botanist.

Ok.  Is there a limit as to how many photos you can upload?

Only the size per post. You can add more in a reply. Sometimes it is needed to refresh the page (if You get over limit flag).

That looks like a stellate hair from an oak tree (Quercus sp.)
