Scylla Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Ok first off this "65 million year old" fossil that comes from the "Jurassic" period just shows how ignorant the author is. I had trouble reading any more, but I had no trouble enjoying the pictures of the fossil icthyosaur. https://news.google.com/articles/CAIiEIJqm_wITm06zKsQ0oo0ZOUqGQgEKhAIACoHCAowzuOICzCZ4ocDMPX1qQY?hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US%3Aen 4
Pemphix Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Great find - even if it is a "little bit" older than 65 MY...

Ludwigia Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I would have liked to read it, but they're not getting my cookies. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

Shamalama Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 With the pics I can see that is a nicely articulated fossil. I hope they are trying to preserve it! 1 -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. Misha Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I have seen like 3 articles on the topic all say 65 myo, then Jurassic right after. One also called ichthyosaurs mammals and the other dinosaurs. I have no idea how they can't do a simple Google search to find accurate info especially when they are listed as science reporters, I feel like they are just reading each other's work and slightly rephrasing it. This is the one that used to have mammal but after I reached out to the surgery they fixed that part but for some reason ignored the incorrect age: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/12/16/dog-walker-discovers-65-million-year-old-fossil-pets-sniff/ I cannot find the other one that listed it as a dinosaur 1
dinosaur man Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Agree @Misha just a simple google search don’t know why they thought they where mammals?
