ev_barr2 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Larger fragment is 1 and 1/4 inches for reference. Any thoughts on these?
sixgill pete Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 All of these teeth are badly worn. @Searcher78 is correct with the I.D.'s he provided. The other 2 on the left (the smaller ones) are Carcharhinus sp. This is the Genus of sharks that include Bull, Dusky, Sandbar, Blacktip and Caribbean Reef sharks among many others. The teeth of many of these sharks look so alike that it is almost impossible to identify them down to species with isolated teeth. Especially if they are worn. The other larger fragment appears to be a well worn broken piece of a megalodon tooth. There appears to be the remnants of a bourlette along the top broken edge.
