PaleoPat
Hi everyone, I got this fish at a mineral shop and he had no identification for it. My son thought it might be a knightia or a mioplosus. It also looks to me like it got fossilized when going to the bathroom. Can anyone help me ID it? Am I right about the poop? I'd really appreciate it. snolly50
I believe your fish is "upside down" in the photos. Yes, that's a coprolite; but apparently from another donor. Looks to be Knightia. It has every appearance of a Green River Formation fish. Fossildude19
Move to FOSSIL ID. Yup. Looks like a Knightia eocaena. RJB
Excellent preservation on that fish. Too bad about the head. You can always paint in some bones? You can exspose more the the anul fin too. Actually a nice fish. RB
