Hello, thank you in advance for any help identifying. I found these on the cherokee lake bed in Northeast Tennessee Hawkins county they are extremely hard and after washing don't change in appearance. Are they fossils?

while I am not familiar with that area and what might be found there, I do not see anything fossil specifically. Typically fossils will have some kind of symmetry or obvious ornamentation that says they were once a living creature. This seems more geological to me. Others may weigh in with better knowledge, but it looks more like geologic iron deposition.

Maybe oncolites or similar, or maybe just concretions. Closer photos might help.
