Hello! Our local fossil group had a 2-hour window to hunt the spoil piles at a local coal mine that is being reclaimed. Covered a lot of ground until I found a spoil pile with slabs of fern fossils of at least 3 species. Neuropteris, Mariopteris, and Lyginopteris. Some of those shale slabs were big, and couldn't take home because there is no room in the inn... most fossil collectors have this problem! I had to leave them! Found a number of Large 3D Calamite stem casts as well, and a Stigmaria impression. Carboniferous Period, Pottsville Formation, Southeastern USA.

Alabama's Carboniferous plants are the best, but you already know that. Congratulations and thanks for sharing those lovely specimens.
