I can't figure out what type of fossil this is, if in fact it is a fossil, which I believe it is. Although I have no clue about anything else. I am just going on my gut telling me it is in fact a fossil.

If anyone could shed some light, it would be greatly appreciated. It's a great conversation piece, and I don't plan on getting rid of it, or anything like that. I simply watn to learn all I can about whatever it is. Thanks.

Found in Southeastern Kentucky, USA.  (Woodbine, KY)

This looks like a trace fossil, the infill of a burrow. Although it is not quite the same, search for Conostichus for comparison.

Your photos are faded (lack of contrast) and we do not have the size in cm or inches, it does not facilitate identification. For my part I do not distinguish anything fossil.

Ah, and for your personal information, we do not write in capital letters (and bold for no reason) on a forum because it means that we are angry and that we shout :Wink1:

I'll go along with westcoast in saying that this is some kind of burrow trace fossil in sandstone.

My bad on the caps. Wasn't my intent lol. First time I've ever posted on a forum period.

I was just trying to get someone to notice my post lol. Thanks for the input and I'll definitely be reading up on the Conostichus thing.

Its cool if it isn't a fossil - my first thought to be honest was a fossilized root or something.

That's a complete guess though. lol  Maybe wishful thinking. I'll try to take a better picture tho with centimeters on a ruler so u can tell how big it is and I don't know  how I could take one with more contrast, so any suggestions there and I'll definitely  oblige.

Thank you for you time.

If you are taking pictures with your phone, you can edit them in Google Photos or whatever app is on your phone. I don't think this helps much, but here is an edited one:

Definitely a trace fossil.

I would lean more towards something like Asterosoma, however.
