I found this weird rock/fossil from a quarry in Wisconsin. Anyone know what it is? It’s about 2.25 in tall and 2.25 in across, 1.25 in wide.

Looks like a chert nodule in sandstone, Not seeing a fossil.

The fine wavy lines looked like they could be crinoid pinnules  closer picture in sharp focus would be helpful.

I respectfully disagree.

I'm not seeing the sectioning you would see in crinoid pinnules.

This looks like some sort of banding in the chert.

Cropped and contrasted.

We need clearer photos. It sort of looks like a coiled ammoniod with meandering worm tubes or trace fossils.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.
