New Members Engmuhammedammar Posted June 6 New Members Posted June 6 at an area very close to inert volcanic or old volcanic, i found that piece in the picture . and i was just wondering how valuable it is?
Fin Lover Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Welcome to the forum! Can you please let us know where it was found and also provide pictures of the sides? Also, the forum doesn't discuss values. Fin Lover
New Members Engmuhammedammar Posted June 6 Author New Members Posted June 6 sorry , i am new to the forum . i found it at suez road at eastern desert .. egypt it was old volcanic area , since million of years ....
Fossildude19 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 More images of all the other sides might help us, as well. This one kind of looks like petrified wood, but I'm not seeing the growth rings you would expect of petrified wood. It could also be either a limb cast, or an ichnofossil, but more views are needed. PaleoNoel Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I agree with @Rockwood, looks like bone to me. The darker exterior layer looks like cortical bone, with the texture of the interior appearing like trabecular bone. I could be wrong however. 1 1

Rockwood Posted June 6 Posted June 6 8 minutes ago, ynot said: How about tree fern? There's basically a coaxial look here. Ferns have more of a multi bundled look. And the cracks on the sides looks more typical of those seen in bone to me. 1
