Hello, I found this fossil on the North Yorkshire coast in the UK. Please could someone help me identify if it is a shark tooth or not? And if so, any more info (species, age etc) would be very much appreciated! Thanks

Hello, its sadly not a shark tooth or a fossil.

Thanks

I can certainly see why you might have thought it was a tooth.  Very suggestively shaped rock.

Cropped, rotated, and brightened:

However, there is no enamel present, and no root texture.

Great look alike, though. I definitely would have picked this up for a more in depth analysis.

Keep looking!
