fifbrindacier Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Hi, i went to a fair exchange yesterday and took those bones presented as a vertebra and a calcaneum of a Paleoruyx cordieri (Antelope recticornis) from the Astian (Pliocene) sands of Montpellier, Herault department. But i can't find anything about it under that name. Maybe it hasn't the same name now. With it, was a bone of a Leptorhinus from the same place. I found out it existed in the Ruscinian (Pleistocene) of Herault. "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." fifbrindacier Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 It seems that this name isn't available any more and it is called Parabos cordieri. Here are a pic i found in Wikimedia commons that shows à vertebra of Parabos boodon and here are new pics of my vertebra, one in the same kind of position than this one "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." shark57 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Looks like a good match. At least the species name was correct.

Yes, the Genus is the same. Edited July 11, 2024 by fifbrindacier "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
