Paleo_Man450
I spent some time "playing in the woods" at Fort Knox, KY recently, and came across some interesting fossils and minerals while I was there. I was wondering if you kind people could help me identify these! This first one stumped me the most. It almost looks like a skin imprint, but I am thinking it is probably some sort of plant fossil. Here is my first brachiopod find, just to show it off. This one is probably just a mineral formation, but it looks really wacky with its octopus-like shapes and extrusions. Definitely crystalline, and dirty. Any tips on how to clean it? Fossildude19
That's an awful lot of photos. We tend to answer better when you keep it to 4 or 5 images per post, and number them so we can reference them more easily. You should be able to change the way your phone saves pictures, and have them save as .JPG files, rather than .HEIC files, which do not display on the Forum. Don't forget to include a ruler for scale! 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Fossildude19
Deleting posts is not allowed. Maybe start a new post with a few (4-5) items, and then continue on, in the same manner. Try grouping like specimens together. I see some bryozoans, brachiopods, and pelecypods. Also, some geologic items as well. Coco
Yes, too many photos, lack of numbers on the photos, no size. And making quotes is not a good idea, it would have been better to directly deliver the photos because it’s a lot of quotes to open and I give up. So the best solution is to repost with few photos in it, numbered and with a rule specifying whether it is in cm or inches. It’s your turn !
