New Members Beat_ole_chevy13 Posted August 18 New Members Share Posted August 18 Hello folks, long time lurker, first time poster here… on my last trip out to the Miocene of Va I came across this funky looking fossil in a freshly fallen block of clay. I can’t for the life of me figure out what it is, nor can I find any info or similar pictures of it online. My initial impression would be a coprolite, or maybe remains of a plant? This layer was deposited in an open marine setting, lacking shells and really only producing bones and teeth. Any ideas? Mind you I do not believe this to be a rock, I have never seen anything remotely similar out of this formation or any crystalline rock larger than pea gravel…
Fossildude19
Cropped and brightened: I'm not seeing anything immediately recognizable in this item. Can we get pictures of the bottom, and sided of the item? Also what is the size of this?
