kirkjeremiah23
Found my first bison skull today, measures right at 30 inch from horn to horn. Took a minute to get it out of the water and carry it back to the truck, weighed a ton. Also found a few other items. Hope you guys enjoy

Yep, we call them 'Crawdads' here They can range in size quite a bit. I've seen them from 2 cm all the way up to ~12 cm. -Jay “The earth doesn't need new continents, but new men.” ― Jules Verne, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

At that size it's either a big Bison bison or a Bison occidentalis (I think B. priscus is synonymous with B. occidentalis). I have yet to find a bison skull, it's one of those finds we all dream about I think. Here's a chart that @Harry Pristis once posted (I don't know what paper it's from): 2 1 -Jay “The earth doesn't need new continents, but new men.” ― Jules Verne, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
