brandon tibbetts
Can someone help me figure out if these are spores on an agate?
Coco
Hi, It’s "a little too" blurry. And the size ? Found where ? A minimum of explanation is needed. Mahnmut
Hi, most structures that I know under the term "spore" are microscopic in size. I think what you see are mineral inclusions in the agate, each having grown in concentric layers around a nucleus, thus looking so biological. daves64
I'm thinking tiny "dings" in the surface due to multiple impacts from contact with other objects. Simple impact fractures. brandon tibbetts
I found it in California Santa Clara area. I thought it was a golf ball and I ground off all the calcium and these are the layers. About an inch or under
Coco
Hi, Try to take your photos in natural light, I think it will help you a lot. These small spots make me think of an insect spawn. Is it really included in the mineral ? Is it hard when you touch it with the tip of a needle ? Mahnmut
Hi again, please take a look at the terms rhyolite and ocean jasper, I do not say thats exactly what you got, but close to the kind of mineral structure: https://www.mindat.org/min-48451.html https://www.krantz-online.de/en/ocean-jasper/M5558 Best regards, J 1 Try to learn something about everything and everything about something Thomas Henry Huxley

I tried the needle scrape and I could not scrape any yellow off. It is super hard and is included in the mineral. I will send better photos

Ludwigia
I'm quite certain that these are not spores, but rather some kind of silicified mineral deposits. 1 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
