Kem kem polycotylid tooth ?

Hello,

I saw this 1.25 inch tooth from the Kem kem beds today. Its offered as a Pterosaur tooth, but could it also be a polycotylidae tooth ?

Sadly, only one bad picture is available, but I saw that I could leave a comment about it on FB.

The curviture seems a bit odd for Pterosaur, and the bits of enamel pattern I'm able to see dont match with the ones I saw on Pterosaur teeth, they match my Zarafasaurus oceanis teeth enamel patterns more.

I've been searching for missidentified Plesiosaur teeth from Kemkem since 2 months, 1 week, and 6 days, so I really hope this really is one !

The tooth in question :

Here now a few pictures of polycotylid teeth from Kemkem I saw here on the Forum, just for comparison :

Looks to me like a tooth from Oulad Abdoun... That is, Zarafasaura oceanis. Based on preservation and matrix.

Thank you !

Well, that hits kinda hard, as I actually kept my eyes on that tooth for quite a while, but still better than buying an overpriced Zarafasaurus oceanis tooth.

Anyway, I also saw this tooth in a big bulk of Spino teeth. The root seems to match with Plesiosaur, but it also has a carina.

Hard to say with just this one photograph. It's definitely Kem Kem, but other than that it's hard to make out both striations and the overall shape of the tooth... Looks more spinosaurid than plesiosaur, at first glance.

Again, the quality of the photographs leaves to be desired. Could be leptocleidid, but might also just be a pterosaur. It seems quite compressed for a plesiosaur if you ask me. But, again, hard to say...
