Bone, Tooth, or just mineral?

Not sure if this is a bone, tooth, or just simply a mineral deposit. I noticed the "shell" on the outside, but I have not a clue in the slightest what it is.

My girlfriend found it on a pile of dirt in Colorado Springs, CO. This same dirt had produced an abundant amount of fossilized bivalve, assuming it was a sea bed at one point.
