I just came across this while fossil hunting in the Alberta badlands on Monday. It is by far the largest bone I've found so far. It came out of the Horseshoe Canyon Formation. My first guess was a hadrosaur tibia, likely Edmontosaurus based on the 1M size? Any folks with more experience to confirm or correct my guess?

I think you are right.  What is the other bone in the bottom right of the last photo.  Looks like there might be a dino in an orange concretion there.  I know the laws in AB are pretty strict.  Are you allowed to collect this yourself?

That is an awesome find! Were there any other large bones in the layer?

I am not in Alberta like you are so I could be wrong but do know a lot about Alberta's ancient past as it's my favorite.  But I think this wouldn't be able to be collected because a lot of it is still in the ground, I think you have to be a paleontologist to dig that up.   Am I correct?

That is correct, technically you are not allowed to even "dislodge" fossils in Alberta. This one is quite frail and definitely still embedded in the coarse sandstone layer. Better left to the professionals.

I didn't get a good ID on the other bone in the layer. It was quite fragmented. Collection on this one would not be allowed.
