Denis Arcand
This morning, I enjoyed my weekend walk at one of my favorite hunting spots, accessible only during low river levels in autumn. The narrow space between the cliff and the river offers a unique experience, as each autumn the river cleanup every thing and brings fresh new fossils already prepared by the water. The formation dates back to the Late Ordovician period, and I often uncover very nice fossils. Last week, I found some colorful ossicles, and I was hopeful for more today—and I was not disappointed! I also found some bryozoans and Sowerbyella. Initially, they didn’t seem remarkable, but after cleaning them and capturing close-up photos underwater and in sunlight, their vibrant colors and luster truly emerged.
