Fossilcal Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 (edited) Hi there, I found this in Fannin County, Texas. I know it’s a fossilized some sort of bone but not sure to what. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Jim Edited October 24, 2024 by Fossilcal
Fossildude19 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Pictures of all sides would be helpful - Top, bottom, front, back, right side, left side. Looks like some sort of fish bone, maybe. This somewhat looks like broken fish vertebra, but I'm not positive about this. Could be a broken hypural bone. Conversely, it could be the back part of a skull of some sort. More images would help, I think. I'm at a loss, personally. Wait for some other opinions, however. Fossilcal Posted October 23, 2024 Author Posted October 23, 2024 Hi Fossilguy, Here’s a few more pictures. I was thinking maybe a piece of a skull to something.
Fossildude19 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Thanks for the additional pics. Maybe a bit of skull. Not sure what from, though. daves64 Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 When I first saw it, I thought it looked sort of like the tailbone (coccyx) of a human. Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.
Fossilcal Posted October 27, 2024 Author Posted October 27, 2024 Any other ideas on to what this might be?
