aldo66
Hello, I recently found a coral ball (I suppose...) in a Silurian level in the South of France. I sawed it, sanded it and polished it and here is the result! The size is about 7 centimeters Is it possible to identify it more precisely? I appeal to your knowledge Thanks in advance Edited October 28 by aldo66
doushantuo
given subspherical to ( sub )pentagonal/ polygonal corallites * ,a favositid affinity might be postulated * for the nonce, i will call them that, because the OP calls his piece a "coral" .... 1 1
TqB
I agree it is a favositid, and think it is probably Favosites itself. 1 1 Tarquin
