I have been short on available hunting time lately, but for preservation of sanity, I still make sure to carve out a little time where I can. A business meeting took me to Lavon, Texas, over an hour away from where I live. But the pathway takes me right by one of my several small Tarrant formation exposures along the woodbine/eagle ford border. With months of drought, I’ve been trying make my final rounds through creek bottoms I normally can’t touch. Then the next heavy rain is what I need (we’re getting sporadic rain over the last couple of days, at least).

I’ll cut to the chase: a nice plate with some turritella, metengonoceras dumbli ammonite, a small partial conlinoceras tarrantense, and a plate with at least 3 embedded conlinoceras tarrantense. Efficiency was achieved.
