Parachute Creek is the upper member of the Lake Uinta deposits of the Green River formation. Likely near Douglas Pass. This does look like a battered moth to me.

could be a moth but there are other  insects with large wings in this unit.  Moths and butterflies are extremely rare.  One would have to study the veination patterns to ID this to an order of insects.
