I took my first fossil hunting trip to the W.M. Browning Park in Mississippi. Didn’t find any shark teeth, but that’s on me for not being properly prepared. I did find a few things, maybe shells, but I’d like to get a second opinion. I don’t have access to a ruler so I had to make do with a pen.

Found a lot like this in all different sizes and colors. Don’t know enough about shells to make a guess.

This reminds me of coral or sponge, the only one I found.

This is the only one that I think might actually be something worthwhile. Maybe a crab.

Something that reminds me of a crab but is most likely a shell

All of these are oysters. The specimens are worn but based on oysters I know are there you have...

1. Pycnodonte convexa

2. The pores are boreholes. Based on the thick layered cross section, this is probably a lower valve of Pycnodonte convexa.

3. A worn Exogyra, probably Exogyra ponderosa (I haven't seen other Exogyra from that site).

4. Another Pycnodonte convexa.
