I went to the road cut along Route 209 in Kingston NY and was met with little success. I cut it short because of the poison ivy and speeding cars. This is all I came away with for that trip. Two brachiopods of possibly the same species. Any ideas?

Because they are both damaged, I can't be 100% certain but I am leaning towards Mediospririfer audacious for the top one and Spinocytia granulosa for the bottom.

I was actually thinking the upper one is Spinocyrtia granulosa, and the lower one was Mucrospirifer.

I agree with Darktooth Dave, Mediospirifer audaculus for both specimens. They likely originate from the Halihan Hill Coral Bed which is about halfway up the cut. It used to be accessible, but due to erosion, probably isn’t anymore. Besides the Mediospirifers, somewhat battered rugose corals can also be found there.

Is the coral bed of the same formation as the spot I found these?
