I'm trying to verify if this is a dinosaur fossil. I lucked across it when the walls of the 100+year old houses cellar walls collapsed and had to be fixed in Springfield Missouri. Looks like a dinosaur head to me. But maybe I just looked at it too long.

Welcome to the Forum.

Doesn't look like dinosaur material to me.

Don't see symmetry or bone texture.

Sorry, I agree that it's not a dinosaur fossil.  Definitely something to keep on the rock shelf, though.

Agree, nothing looks like dinosaur bone in these pictures.

Also, Missouri is not well known for dinosaur fossils.

This seems like some kind of fossilized animal skull. Clear evidence of bone.IMG_20241123_1032402.thumb.jpg.7c2660479d2f1515852b7e55120547e3.jpgIMG_20241203_133023.thumb.jpg.82d55030a2edd587b506447935019cf8.jpgIMG_20241122_165518.thumb.jpg.3afd4994687b3ee784817f7526a91f07.jpgIMG_20241121_1244312.thumb.jpg.ede5605a0ca4a62b06a46675e388a664.jpgIMG_20241201_174806.thumb.jpg.013264e56b3f1a4a892d99143da9bbf7.jpgIMG_20241201_1746062.thumb.jpg.2d1d8371eabb283099fc5df1ae97a277.jpg

Unfortunately I don't see any bone texture, or anything to indicate that this is a skull.

Welcome to the forum from Australia! :b_hi:

Agreed, there is no fossil bone on this.

Also:

Location is needed for an ID. However, I don't think this is any fossil material.

I agree with the others. "Clear evidence of bone" doesn't show up at all in these fuzzy photos.

It looks like he posted this last month, he's reposting it now. Probably because everyone else said it wasn't bone, and he really thinks it is. So, he's trying to get other opinions.

OP, I am not trying to be rude or come across as a terrible person. But re-posting like this won't get you a different answer. To be honest, I do not believe this is any fossil at all. From the first post you said Springfield Missouri in a 100+ year old house cellar wall, why didn't you say that again? No offence, just asking.

Still not a fossil of any kind….

Under my house, this not a fossil cranium, not even teratological or pathological.

Of course ,you 're allowed to have a different opinion, but the combined knowledge of centuries of anatomist and paleontologists militates

against the conclusion you seem to have drawn .

To discuss your piece any further without you contributing more data is not very sensible

One is plenty.

@undermyhouse

Please take your item to a local Natural History Museum, or local University,  and show it to a Paleontologist.

The people here do not agree with your assessment, and you won't gain any traction with your idea here.

This is something that should be examined in hand by a Paleontologist,
But be prepared to be disappointed.
