Hello everyone, I noticed that this Tyrannosaur claw fossil is being sold. According to the description, it was found in the Hell Creek Formation in Montana and has no restoration and repairs. It looks genuine to me, but I can't be certain since there aren't many samples I can compare it with. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

I know that this seller sells genuine fossils; he hunts for them himself and has a website where he posts photos of his digs. And it simply looks genuine to me. So, I'm certain that this is real.

However! I don't know if this is a tyrannosaurid claw or not! Even if it is, it's not in the very poor condition.

I'm not sure you can rule out Anzu in this condition. It's 100% real though so fossil ID may have been a better location for this. No question about how real it is.

It looks real, but the condition is so poor, its almost all gone .most likely a surface find that has been out there for to long.

Therefore I would wait to find a more complete one.

Also unsure about the Tyrannosaur , Anzu perhaps, but its to thick to be Anzu in my opinion. Lets wait for more opinions about people with HC knowledge,

Rip I wish Troodon was still here to help us..

Isn't there a new hell creek oviraptorid? So, it could be that or Anzu?

Personally, I'd wait for a better one to pop up for sale.

Sorry, I just noticed a typo, I said "it is not in the very poor condition"

I meant to say that it's IN very poor condition. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem at all, and thanks again for sharing your insight!
