New Members Met Posted December 4, 2024 New Members Posted December 4, 2024 Dear community During a brief visit of the mines in the Taouz area of Morocco, I collected a bunch of pieces from the spoil heaps. Most are impossible or easy to id. This is the largest bone I found and it might be identifiable. It is asymmetrical, so apparently off center axis. My guess was a scapula or some pelvis bone. But I could not find anything like it online. I would be thankful for your ideas. Measure is in cm. So the L is 3,75in, W 2.55in. It seems to be broken on all edges. 1
Fossildude19 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Maybe part of a vertebra? Individual broken chunks without identifying details are notoriously difficult to ID. Even if you figure out what kind of bone it may be part of, there is still no knowing what it may have come from. New Members Met Posted December 4, 2024 Author New Members Posted December 4, 2024 I never found any compatible vertebra either. Yes, I expect that I may not find everything about it. But if the shape is uncommon, it may narrow the species down.
rocket Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I would agree with part of a vertebrae, seems to be Spinosaur
