Here are some raindrop impressions (with pterosaur tracks).  Raindrop (and meteorite) impact marks tend to be round no matter what angle the projectile hits.  Look at the craters on the moon.  they are all round, none are elongated and it stands to reason that not all of those impacts were direct hits in the middle of the moon.   

 

Edit... my colleague, who is very much into space science, says there are a few on Mars that are more elongate.  He says they need to hit at extremely low angle to not make a round crater.  I imagine raindrops rarely ever get to a low enough angle of contact to make elongated mark craters.
