SawTooth Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) They are doing a similar project at the beach in mayport, less than a hour away from Fernanda, someone still managed to get a near complete mammoth (or mastodon, I don't exactly remember) tooth about a month ago. Fin Lover Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I don't know if they used that equipment when they renourished Folly Beach, but I've heard that the finds have greatly diminished since it was done. Fin Lover
hadrosauridae Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 All beach renourishment involves some type of screening to prevent large chunks of metal from being put onto the beach (and to prevent damage to equipment). But I've never heard anyone who likes any of these renourishments. Its very expensive and within a few years, nature has reclaimed all that sand back into the ocean. 1 Professional fossil preparation services at Red Dirt Fossils, LLC.

Yep- sort of like some of those UAE artificial islands that washed away.
