Frightmares Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) I‘m trying to learn how to differentiate species of Mosasaur teeth… I found this one posted online and thought it may be a Mosasaurus beaugei tooth due the pronounced facets. What do you guys think? Does it still being in the matrix affect identification at all? It’s 1.55 inches. Edited December 8, 2024 by Frightmares

North Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Looks like M. beaugei tooth. And yes, matrix does make id more difficult since you can't see all the details. In this case tooth curvature or carinae twist. 1 1 There's no such thing as too many teeth.
