Howdy all,

Here's a group of specimens I'm interested in. The seller says these were found in the Black Creek Group of North Carolina, and has called them Deinosuchus, but admits that they are not familiar with crocodilians from that area.

Do these look authentic? And can an ID be placed to them? The enamel on one of the crowns looks like that of a juvenile Deinosuchus schwimmeri tooth I have.

Look real to me. Can't help with ID so wait for other opinions.

Much obliged. 🫡

Yup, I see no signs of any restoration or repair.

They look real but i would be very hesitant to call these Deinosuchus (what distinguishes these from any other croc taxon?). Unless they were found with more complete material that could 100% be identified as Deinosuchus, these pieces on their own are probably just indeterminate croc material.

I'm not seeing the strongly ridged enamel characteristic of Deinosuchus teeth so I'd also ID these as indeterminate crocodilian.
