Hello From North Texas

Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to the area, I've only been living in the DFW area for a few years (I'm in Arlington), so I don't know where any of the good collecting sites are. Looking for collecting groups or clubs in the area. I just recently joined the Dallas Paleontological Society and I know they go on field trips occasionally, so, I'm looking forward to that. I've been to the Mineral Wells Fossil Park and had a lot of fun there, but other than that, I know of nowhere else to collect (and I know Texas has some of the best fossils anywhere).

My main interest is in trilobites, crinoids, and ammonites, but, honestly, I love all fossils of all geological eras.

Welcome from central Oklahoma! from what I hear, I'm pretty sure Texas is entirely made of fossils, at least when compared to Oklahoma :D

Maybe, but in Oklahoma you have those wonderful Devonian trilobites. Sometime after winter I plan to go up there and have a look around. I found out about a pay quarry (from this site, I think). It's a little expensive, but I can prep my own trilos, so it would be worth it.
